Fade February at dutil.
dutil. Denim in Toronto & Vancouver are hosting simultaneous events on February 25th to cap off the month of ‘Fade February’. Reps will be on hand from Nudie, Railcar, and Levi’s showcasing some of their pieces and to answer any questions. I’ll have a Worn Denim Display at the Toronto location. Flying Monkeys will be there to keep your whistles wet.
There is also a Worn Denim Walk-off contest. Send a photo of your best worn jeans to dutilto@dutildenim.com (Toronto) or dutil@dutildenim.com (Vancouver) to be considered for a spot in the contest. There are only a few spots left so get them submitted ASAP! Winners will get their choice of jeans from Nudie, Railcar, or Levi’s. I’m a contest judge along with the brand reps and store managers.

Toronto Underground Cinema

We tried to track down some of the Banksy pieces around Toronto today. Only came across this one.

Looks as if Banksy pieces have popped up around the Toronto area recently. With Bansky’s recent spike in popularity there has also been a rise in impostors. Are these the real deal? I guess we’ll never know. I’ve seen photos of 3 GTA Banksy pieces so far.

Red Bull X 1 Love TO
1 Love TO’s 1 year anniversary party took place a couple weekends ago at Red Bull head office. Tonnes of art was on display and alot of liquids were being poured.

The Board Meeting
Over the past 6 years Toronto longboarders have gathered one night at the beginning of summer for a massive ride. This year’s Toronto Board Meeting is taking place this Friday May 7th at 6pm. An expected 400 riders are going to gather and bomb Yonge St. followed by an after party at Augusta House. There’s also a gallery taking place at the Longboard Living Gallery (74 Oxford St.) this Friday at 7pm to showcase photos from previous ‘Board Meetings’.
4/20 smokers got a bit of a bad buzz while gathered today at Yonge&Dundas square in Toronto. The plan was to light up at 4:20pm, at 4:06pm someone had a different plan. A man started to wave a gun around. He was quickly taken down and detained by civilians. Thankfully no shots were fired and no one got seriously injured. Watch the video, check everyone scatter when the gun is pulled.
